Our Ongoing Focus on Community Services

Scholarships - Available to Lisle high school students and continuing education for women returning to college for the last 55 years

Lisle Library - Contributing to and supporting Friends of the Library since 1964

Lisle Township Food Pantry and Garden- Providing holiday bags, baskets of food and

gift certificates to families in need along with helping the garden which provides fresh vegetables for the food pantry.

International Affairs - Supporting efforts to improve the lives of women and children around the globe

Veteran's Collections - Collecting needed items for Veterans

Environment - Recycling of Styrofoam and other recyclables along with local

parks clean-up.

Our Accomplishments

Lisle Woman’s Club volunteers over 12,000 hours throughout the

community for such organizations. These have included:

  • Lisle Park District: Hosted a community clean-up day in April and continued Abbeywood Park monthly clean-up.

  • Chick Change: continued collection change for local

  • Local Food Pantries:  Increased reach of our donation of children’s books beyond food pantries to a daycare, an early learning center, and Almost Home Kids. Feminine products were donated to the Food Pantries.  During the holiday season donated gifts and food items for local families to the Lisle Food Pantry. We held a food donation drive for local food pantries during GFWC National Day of Service.

  • Swallow Stories bookshop: monthly reading to children and donating a Little Library for outside the shop.

  • Lisle Library: Donated a bench on the south side of the Library.

  • Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans: collected items for the shelter

  • Operation Support Our Troops America: created 125 skate ornaments and donated beanie babies.

  • Village of Lisle: Club members folded 1000 paper bags used for luminaries displayed the night of the Christmas tree lighting
